Justin served six years in the Marine Corps. In the Infantry, he learned to embrace the hard, a lesson that served him well during the 2021 US evacuation of Afghanistan. Later, as a drill instructor, Justin appreciated the opportunity to pour into young recruits. Once he separated from the military, he realized he wanted to continue serving a bigger purpose. As Apogee Summit's Outdoor Learning and Physical Fitness Coach, as well as campus Security Director, he plans to do just that and continue pouring into young learners.
After raising three boys and a 30-year career in federal law enforcement intelligence, Wendi looked forward to a retirement that included exploring Colorado's back country and visiting all the national parks. Just a year into that retirement, however, Justin's enthusiasm to open an Apogee campus ignited a spark in her to step outside the comfort zone and join him in the effort. So they set about putting together the best possible team to make it happen. The national parks can wait.
